Bhagavad-gita 1.1 — Summary of Points by the Acharyas, Part 3: Vishvanatha Chakravarti-Prabhupada

This video (by https://bhagavadgitareader.wordpress.com and http://sanskritstudio.wordpress.com) discusses, in three parts, how ten different acharyas have commented on Bhagavad-gita verse 1.1 (Chapter 1, Verse 1).

In this Part 3 video, the major points (philosophical, linguistic, historical) of the following acharyas are discussed:

Viśvanātha Cakravartī (Visvanatha Cakravarti): c. 1654–1754 AD
Baladeva Vidyābhūṣana (Baladeva Vidyabhusana): 18th century AD
Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda (Prabhupada): 1896-1977 AD

The presentation of the comments by the acharyas is done in chronological order, in order to give some idea about the historical flow of ideas and how they were received.

  1. Namaste! Are you going to create more videos “points by the acaryas” on the succeding verses of the Gita. I would be very much obliged.

    • Namaste,

Thank you for your question. Currently I have no plans of producing more of these videos. They are extraordinarily difficult and time-consuming to produce, since they involve so many sources.

      Best wishes,
